A Cunning Plan

My life seems to be an endless list of cunning plans.

I plan and have all the best intentions to carry them out and get the reward and satisfaction of plan completion.

I keep chipping away at my website design but never seem to get that far with it, and I blame the photos for that!

I have plans to do a huge move around in my lounge. Now it is a smallish room, but I have my 60 litre tropical tank that requires careful planning so that the fish have little disruption.

I have a plan, I know roughly how long it will all take, and once that is moved, I know how I am going to shift the remaining items, sofa, hi fi equipment telly etc, but I just seem to always get distracted and never really get started.

This weekend my plan is again, to undertake the mass move of the lounge.

It all hinges on the weather, as if it is nice then I refuse to stay indoors and will be off down the allotment or mooching about.

Sometimes it is all well and good living for the moment, but I am wondering if I will ever get my website up and running and my lounge moved!!!

I blame the erratic weather. This causes me to panic if the sun shines and abandon all indoor tasks so that I can get out and make the most of working on the allotment or mooching about in just a t-shirt.

I used to write lists and lots of them. Since I stopped writing lists, there does seem to be a larger element of chaos in my life. I just refuse to be ruled by lists and this is what happens.

Next weekend I am camping with mates so at least I know where I will be and what I am doing!!!! I will be drunk, laughing and happy and the lounge move and website will not get a 2nd thought!

Rogi

Oh my goodness. Now you are really a blast from the past!!!!

So many chances have taken place, I am in Essex, on my own and vanless!!!!

I am so delighted that you commented and so pleased that you are still around!!!

I was going to reply in private but this old technology still gets me all muddled!!!!

What a really lovely surprise, you have made me day.

I really hope that all is well, and that if you have your own place on the net that you can share it with me.

How really lovely to hear from you.

I am now wondering what has happened to the rest of the gang?

Allotment Collection!

Thanks to my friend at The Snail Garden blog, I am trying this new way of showing my photo's!!

It shows how the allotment looks at the moment and the shallots, garlic and potatoes that I took home Saturday to cook!

I think that if you click on the grid it will enlarge! I know, it is almost too much to bear eh?

All photo's were taken with my Sony Ericsson K800i phone.

Here goes with my first ever test!

Vegetable Update!

Well, it has been some time, so I though that a quick catch up was in order.

I am very proud of all my veg, and proud of all the time that I have put in. I am so glad that I started my allotment and I have never eaten better so cheaply!!! I am addicted to veg now!!!

I do not use any potions/sprays etc so this lot is as organic as you can get!

I have just finished my first wave of growth and so far I have grown and eaten...
Broad beans- 3lb frozen ready for winter soups/risottos
Some lame leeks - planted too deep so bit short
Peas that were so sweet and addictive, 1lb frozen
Spinach by the bagfull
White onions - in tights all over the flat
Red onions - also in tights all over the flat
Garlic - bit sweet so maybe another week or two yet
New potatoes - to simply die for
Cauliflower - 5 out of 5 so I was rather chuffed

Currently I still have in the ground..
French beans - ready in next 10 days or so
Cougettes - picked one last night
Marrow - could be a prize winner
Raspberries - not supposed to be ready but a few are!
New potatoes - hope to be digging up for some time yet!
Maris piper Potatoes - not yet dug them up
Spinach - it really is never ending!
White onions - about another 15
Red onions - about another 10
Garlic - hopefully 20 odd but I think it was planted too deep
Cabbages - stupid big and like trees
Sprouts - to send to mother!
Sweetcorn - like trees and I am so excited!
Leeks - planted higher so should be better!

Due to all the above, I have now uncovered the final 1/4 of my half plot as I have decided to get digging again and prepare for a swathe of autumn growth!!!!

I am away this weekend again, but hope to start doing weekend updates every week!

The Big Errection

It was easier than it looked!
It was a totally amzing weekend. I am so lucky to have such mad and fantastic mates, such strong kidneys and a liver lined in steel!

Stupid Flu Bug

Well, I woke up feeling a bit weird on Saturday, could not really put my finger on it, just a bit weird.

I went down to allotment, dug up some spuds, pulled me broad beans out and then felt very hot and bothered and all out of sorts.

I walked back flat, and by the time that I got there I felt shocking.

Within hours I ached all over, had terrible nausea and a headache from hell.

Then the tummy upset started and I could barely keep water down let alone anything else.

I have not known anything like it. It has certainly knocked me for six.

Today I still have the over whelming nausea, a headache but I am not hurrying all over as much.

I feel so sorry for anyone that has swine flu.

I know need to get some weight on, stop feeling like poo and get ready for my camping adventure this weekend.

It is time to debut the tent, the cooker and the airbed if it ever arrives!

So it all about trying to eat and get strong enough so that I spend the weekend flushing this bug out with voddy.

Every cloud has a silver lining!!!!
